March marks the 11th Anniversary of the SANTA FE MAC USER GROUP. Congratulations!!!
That happens to be the steel anniversary so I guess cutlery is in order.

PRESENTATION: This month's presenters will be Lynn Roylance, Vint Miller and
Giuseppe Quinn discussing Mac maintenance.

We will cover topics from cleaning your Mac inside and out, protecting it while networked and reading email
and securing data through disc utilities and backup.
You need to be there if you've ever wondered, "Can I put my keyboard in the dishwasher?"
Or, "Is it ok to dry my PowerBook or iPod in the oven?" (see oven examples at http://www.santafemug.org/baked_apples.html )
We will venture to bring enlightenment to the age old questions; Can I clean my keyboard with the same wipes I
clean my LCD screen or my baby's bottom? How often do I need to backup? What about dust inside my tower or laptop?
How do I protect myself from viruses, do I need to? Are DVD good for backups? Plus much more including tips and tricks
and a group discussion. So whether you are brand new to computers or a seasoned veteran come and hear the latest
techniques or let other in on your cool tricks. Also note the Raffle (listed below) includes items geared to help maintain your Mac.

***Editor's Note: Do you design websites? Create slideshows, music or movies,? Do you edit photos, write books, or design homes?
Are you plotting the stars, working out the cure for cancer or hunger? Are you putting the final touches on your free energy invention?
No matter what you use your Mac for, sharing how you do it will inspire others to new levels of whatever they us their Mac for.
Let one of the SFMUG Board members know and we'll help you tell your story to the group.

________________________

Raffle items at the March meeting include a full copy of Norton SystemWorks 3.0 for Macintosh (Norton AntiVirus, Norton Utilities,
Dantz Retrospect Express Backup, and Aladdin Spring Cleaning),  Robin Williams "Cool Mac Apps" from Peachpit Press,
an 800 dpi USB optical mouse, two retractable Ultra Zipcords (modem, USB), sample packets of iKlear Apple Polish, and
several other maintenance-related goodies that we'll announce at the last minute...

Editor's Note: Of all the duties connected with the SFMUG, the raffle
chairman is always under a lot of pressure to provide interesting gifts to
be raffled. Steve Zappe works hard throughout each month to find
worthwhile material for the raffle and we all appreciate his contribution.
Your purchase of raffle tickets allows this organization to raise necessary
funds in support of our outreach programs.
